Born and raised on the South side of Chicago, Lashona Weatherspoon developed the drive to succeed at an early age. Being in an environment where you either “sink or swim,” Lashona chose to swim! Her drive and ambition have turned her into one of Chicago’s most diverse and in demand actresses/models.
Lashona earned her Bachelor’s of Science degree in Business Administration in 2001 from Mississippi Valley State University. Shortly thereafter, she decided to move west to pursue her passion for fashion by attending The Fashion Institute of Design and Merchandising in Los Angeles, CA. After graduating in 2002, Lashona began pursuing her dream by working with Karen Kane Inc. and Styles as an Associate Buyer (both accessories and retail clothing stores in Los Angeles). She parlayed her career into working relationships with celebrity fashion stylist Phillip Bloch and fashion show producer Susan Koziak.
While keeping her eyes on the prize, Lashona found an opportunity to return home when offered a position with Claire's Jewelry and Accessories in Hoffman Estates, IL. Lashona’s experience on the west coast had changed her. She was no longer a shy rebel, so she decided to be a “Chi” rebel. She decided it was time to step from behind the scenes and be the face of her future. She threw her hat in the ring as a model and actress and got a phenomenal response.
To her surprise in September of 2014, she soon landed several TV commercials, from Grammy Award winning blues legend Buddy Guy’s, to Perkin’s National Restaurant chains, to a principal role in a Western Union commercial. Lashona continues to build on her earlier successes that now include roles in commercials for ESPN/GMC Acadia and Fab Fit Fun (HeroBox). Lashona has also modeled for Mielle Organics and The Wondering Closet. Moreover, she’s played roles in the films, Holiday Heist, Date Night, Samson, and AARON..AF.
Lashona is currently with S&S Entertainment Management, Inc. as well as prominent casting agencies, Claire Simon Casting, 4 Star Casting, ExtraOrdinary Casting, Gill Hayes Talent (Print Division) and others to continue building her brand. Armed with a strong will, and the intelligence to do so, she plans on making an impact on the world like we’ve never seen before.
